Presentation Topics

Here are three presentation topics that students can sign up for. You can sign up for a topic by completing this form. Topics are assigned on a first come, first served basis. Please reach out if you have any questions about the topics. These will require you to find academic research articles and methodologies which you will present in class through a presentation and a slide deck.

1. Machine learning for poaching detection

Identify research articles and methodologies that use machine learning techniques as a means to detect illegal animal poaching.

2. Machine learning for drone based animal identification

Identify research articles and methodologies that use machine learning techniques applied to images/videos obtained from r drones as a method to identify/count/study animals.

3. TensorFlow model pruning/quantisation to facilitate real time monitoring on low powered devices

Identify methodologies to prune and quantise neural networks as a means to compress them, such that the smaller models can be executed on low powered devices, such as Raspberry Pis.
